I have been in the fitness industry for over 10 years now. Though I studied Communications and Philosophy at the University of Texas at Austin, I found I thoroughly enjoyed helping people change their lives through fitness over the years. My certification is from the National Academy of Sports medicine. This particular style of training is functional. That means the body is trained in a way in which it moves naturally through life’s physical challenges. The exercises use little to no machines which forces the body to learn to stabilize itself by way of the nervous system. Challenging the nervous system each workout keeps the body “guessing.” Functional training tends to be more effective than machines for strengthening the connective tissue we know as our tendons and ligaments found at our joints. Since most of the body, if not the whole body, is used to stabilize itself during the exercises, lots of muscles are used simultaneously and calories are highly consumed in the process. This leads to an efficient workout that tones/builds muscle throughout the body while decreasing body fat. In sum, my specialties focus on weight loss, body shaping, flexibility and strength training.
